How to Connect Soundbar to Samsung TV
You can connect any model or brand of soundbar to a Samsung smart TV using different options, as mentioned below.
Using WiFi
WiFi gives you more range, and if you connect the soundbar and Samsung TV using this method, you can place the soundbar anywhere in your house and enjoy sound as long as it’s in connected status.
1. Connect your soundbar to a power source to turn it On. Then, use the Source button on the device or its remote to put it in WiFi mode.
2. Now, power On and connect your Samsung TV to Wi-Fi. Then, grab your smartphone and connect it to the same WiFi.
3. Now install the SmartThings app on your phone and open it. Tap the (+) icon and select the Add button under Samsung Devices.
4. Select Soundbar from the list of device types. Then, follow the prompts until the app starts searching for your device.
5. Once the soundbar is connected, the app will notify it. Now, go back to your Samsung TV and open Settings.
6. Select Sound → Sound Output and choose your soundbar from the available devices. Now, you will be able to hear your Samsung TV audio from the soundbar.
Using Bluetooth
1. Click the Source button on the Soundbar unit or its remote until you see BT on the soundbar display or hear the Bluetooth-activated command.
2. When BT changes to BT READY after a few seconds, long press the Pair button on your remote for 5 or more seconds until you see/hear BT PAIRING.
3. On your Samsung TV, navigate to Quick Settings. Select All Settings → Sound → Sound Output and click on the Bluetooth Speaker List.
4. Once your soundbar device appears, select the Pair and Connect button and finish the task.
Using Optical Cable
1. Once you power On your soundbar, press the Source button repeatedly until D.IN. appears on the display.
2. Now, grab your optical cable and connect one end of it to the TV’s Optical OUT port and the other end to the soundbar’s Digital Audio IN port.
3. On your TV, navigate to the Sound Output menu and select the Audio Out/Optical option to start heating audio from the soundbar.
Using HDMI Cable
Before beginning, open Quick Settings and select All Settings → General → External Device Manager. Then, make sure the Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) option is selected.
1. Connect the HDMI cable’s one end to the TV’s HDMI IN (ARC) port and the other end to the HDMI OUT (TV ARC) port on the Soundbar.
2. Start up your soundbar and change the Source to D.IN. by using the Source button on the soundbar or its remote. Now, the connection will turn successful, and your Samsung Smart TV and the audio will be emitted from the soundbar.
All the above methods are pretty easy and help establish a quick connection between your soundbar and Samsung TV. If you want more flexibility and a wireless connection, go with Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. However, a wireless connection is not stable, and there might be frequent interruptions. On the other hand, connecting the soundbar with an HDMI cable gives you the best audio quality.
