How to Reset TCL TV With or Without Remote

How to Reset TCL TV Using Remote

Since the remote control is the best tool to operate any model of TCL TVs, use it to navigate to Settings and reset them to factory settings using the following steps.

TCL Android TV

• Head to the Settings menu from the home screen.

• Select More Settings → Device Preferences → Reset → Factory Reset.

• Choose Erase everything and enter the PIN displayed on the screen.

• Select OK & your TCL Android TV will start to reset.

TCL Google TV

• From the home screen, reach the Settings menu and select System → About → Reset → Factory Reset.

• Select Factory Reset again and choose Delete everything.

• Then, enter the PIN code shown on the pop-up and press OK.

TCL Roku TV

• On the Roku TV home screen, navigate to the Settings option and select System → Advanced system settings → Factory reset.

• Enter the factory reset code displayed on the right side and press the OK button.

• Then, select Factory reset everything to begin the reset process.

TCL Fire TV

• Turn on your TCL TV and navigate to the Settings section on the home screen.
• Select My Fire TV/Device & Software → Reset to Factory Defaults and hit the Reset button on the confirmation message.

Now, all your installed apps, data, passwords, and settings will be erased from your TCL Smart TV.

How to Reset TCL TVs Without Using Remote

If you are not able to use your TCL Smart TV remote control for some reason, don’t worry, as you can still reset your TV using the following methods.

Using Physical Buttons

Some TCL TVs will have the Settings/Menu buttons on the side or back of the TV. You can use this button to open the on-screen Settings and navigate to the Reset option using the arrow buttons. If your TV has physical buttons like Power, Channel, and Volume buttons, you can reset your TV by following these steps.

Note: TCL TVs that only have the Power button (bottom middle) can’t be reset using this method.

• Press and hold the Power button and turn off your TCL TV. Then, unplug it from the power socket.

• After about 10 seconds, plug the power cord back in and turn on the TCL TV using the Power button.

• While turning it on, hold the Volume down and Channel down buttons simultaneously until the TV Setup screen appears, indicating your TCL TV is reset.
• Now, you can set up your TCL TV and reconfigure the settings.

Note: TCL Roku TVs have a Reset button/pinhole on their side. You can press and hold this button or insert a thin and pointed object like a pen. Remain still for about 12 seconds until the status indicator blinks and your TV gets reset.

Using Remote Apps

If your TV doesn’t have the required physical buttons to reset it, you can also use the TCL TV remote app to finish this task. In order to use the remote app and control, connect your TCL TV to the WiFi network to which your phone is connected.

The following mentioned are the remote apps for each OS version on TCL TV.

• Install one of these apps on your smartphone and finish pairing your TCL TV with it.
• Then, tap on your TV name to open the virtual remote.
